Aromatherapy is a therapeutic natural practice that can be used to promote health, beauty and a sense of well being. It involves using pure Essential Oils by a variety of methods, including inhalation, bathing and massage.
When used in the bath or massage, the healing properties absorb right through the skin.
When inhaled, odor molecules enter your nostrils and drift toward your olfactory receptors. Once the receptors identify an odor, nerve cells relay this information directly to the limbic system. The olfactory nerve cells are the only sensory pathways that open directly into the brain.
The limbic system is a group of deep brain structures that are involved in the sense of smell. Here odors can trigger memories and influence emotions and behavior. The brain registers aroma twice as fast as it does pain. This is why the inhalation of aromas can so powerfully transform the emotions. The limbic system works with the nervous system, respiratory, circulatory and immune systems.
In Aromatherapy, essential oils have four modes of action in interacting with the human body.
Pharmacological: is the effects of chemical changes which take place when an essential oil enters the bloodstream and reacts with hormones, enzymes,etc.;
Physiological : is the way an essential oil affects the systems of the body, whether they are sedated or stimulated, etc.;
Psychological: is the individual response to the inhaled aroma of an essential oil.
Wholistic: is the human body's total response to an essential oil, including but not limited to, the responses listed above.
Aromatherapy and essential oils have been around for thousands of years. And now scientific research has proven that these wonderful smelling substances are complex and powerful with remarkable medicinal properties.
FOUR METHODS OF AROMATHERAPY
Tea
It's been said that drinking tea is soothing to the soul. All tea is beneficial to the body whether it is herbal, black or green. Tea contains trace minerals and nutrients that are beneficial to the different systems of the body. Green, oolong and black tea provide fluoride and contain polyphenols. Research indicates tea may actually help prevent different types of cancer including breast, colon, lung and skin cancer. Herbal tea varies quite a lot. Some aid the digestive system, some calm the nervous system, while others help ease depression and even breathing difficulties.
Bathing
Bathing with herbs is like slipping into a hot cup of tea. Instead of drinking the tea, your body absorbs the healing qualities directly through the skin. A bath should last about 20 minutes to allow for total saturation of the skin. A nice thing about herbs in the bath is that you also inhale the steam and the healing properties go directly into your lungs.
Choose herbs that stimulate a sluggish body, like mints or rosemary. These herbs also help cool you down on a hot summer day. Or choose herbs like chamomile or hops to help you wind down after a busy day. If your muscles are tired and aching, add rosemary or mugwort to your herbal bath. Mugwort is a great herb to use if you meditate or just like to soul search in the tub.
Inhalation
Inhalation is hard for some to understand as a way of healing. When you study how the systems of the body work in detail, it is easy to see exactly how this form of natural healing works. The nose is not a subject most have studied and it's not the most popular of our senses. The sense of smell is mostly subtle. Unless an odor is offensive or overpowering, you usually don't give it a second thought. When you take the time to experience your sense of smell, you start to find out how fun and exciting this sense can be. You smell things from long ago and you begin to look forward to all the unexpected memories those scents bring.
There are many ways to inhale herbs. Simmering pots are very popular. Have you ever thought to put your orange peel in a simmering pot? With recycling being more and more important,it is nice to find natural ways to use things more than once. Cinnamon, cloves, allspice and ginger are wonderful additions to orange peels in your simmering pot. Or throw some herbs in a saucepan of water and simmer on the stove (or wood stove). This is a great way to infuse your surroundings with the aromatic herbs of whatever season it happens to be.
A lot of herbs and essential oils have anti-viral and anti-bacterial properties. Using essential oils in a spritzer is a terrific way to kill airborne bacteria, freshen the air and lift your spirits. Studies show it even increases your alertness and productivity.
Massage
Massage has been one of the most popular and accepted forms of herbal healing for a long time. It is an easy, pleasant way to receive the healing benefits of essential oils. However, essential oils are very concentrated and should always be diluted with a Carrier Oil such as almond, sunflower, even olive oil will do. Each oil has unique qualities of its own. When you add a few drops of a particular essential oil or a blend of oils, you can provide relief and healing for a variety of ailments from eczema, cuts and wounds to arthritis, depression and insomnia.
When you inhale essential oils, they enter into your respiratory system as well as your brain. In your lungs, molecules of essential oils attach themselves to oxygen molecules and are carried into your blood stream and circulated to every cell in your body. Within the cells, essential oils can activate the body's ability to heal itself and improve health.
International scientific research suggests that aromatherapy can increase productivity levels, information retention and relaxation.
Implementing aromatherapy into your life is easy and feels so good. It not only strengthens your connection with Mother Nature, it helps you to take the time to relax and enjoy life.

Astral projection is an awareness of one's consciousness detaching from the physical body, and can be spontaneous or induced. It is a transfer of the consciousness from the physical body and senses to the astral body. This generally occurs during a state of altered consciousness, often in the state of deep relaxation that arises just before one falls asleep. The physical body is then at rest, and may be "asleep" or somewhat paralyzed in order to not move around during dreams, but the conscious mind lags behind a step, remaining awake. It is also common in experiences of trauma, such as accidents and near death experiences, or when undergoing anesthesia.
In many cases, the person projecting travels and sees others in the physical and is able to describe where that person was and what they were doing at the time, which is then corroborated by that person. In some cases, the person observed also sees the projector, either as real and solid, or in apparition form. Reports of out of body experiences tend to share some common characteristics, such as the ability to travel through walls and other physical structures, the experience of vibrations and loud noises (music or rushing noises) just before leaving the body, a snap or pop as one separates from the body, and distorted vision and/or hearing.
Some say that our consciousness is actually rooted in the astral body, and controls the physical (including the brain) from the astral plane. This seems rather unlikely, at least during waking hours, otherwise we'd have more conscious awareness of the astral plane. What we perceive generally seems to be determined by the focus of our attention, and by the frequency of our energetic vibrations. Therefore, through altering our state of consciousness, we can become aware of energies on the astral plane (such as auras) and other realms of experience (such as dreams). We experience the reverse of this all the time, when we "snap out of it," or come "back to earth," and refocus on the physical plane. When we are daydreaming our conscious awareness is not on this physical reality. A person who is "spacey," forgetful or accident-prone is often said to be "ungrounded," and less than fully consciously present in their bodies.
The physical body is the densest of our bodies (so far as is known). Interpenetrating the physical and extending just beyond it is what is known as the etheric body, which transforms energy from the spiritual through to this plane. The etheric is like a blueprint for the physical body. The astral body is associated with emotion, imagination and thought forms. Beyond this (and interpenetrating it all) there are mental and spiritual bodies. Many teach about the "lower" astral versus the "higher" astral. The lower astral is allegedly the slums of the astral plane, inhabited by criminals, thieves, frightening thought forms, etc., while the higher astral is the place of dreams and visions, and a good place to rendezvous with loved ones now in spirit and guides.
Everyone leaves their bodies at night, though few remember it. Some people claim not to even dream, but dream lab studies show that everyone dreams. Remembering one's dreams is a sign of becoming more "awake," more self-aware, or more developed spiritually. Similarly, most people do not remember their out of body experiences at night, but the more developed we become, the more we retain both knowledge of these experiences, and conscious awareness during them. We can even develop the ability to induce out of body experiences.
The frequency of vibrations one achieves when projecting will determine the specifics of the experience. The more in harmony we are with the finer vibrations of the astral plane, the easier it will be to get out of the body. People approaching such an experiment motivated by curiosity will likely have a different type of experience from someone who has been on a conscious spiritual path and who seeks greater knowledge of the nature of life. The spiritually developed projector is likely to have ease in getting out of the body, to experience no noise/static during separation, and no dramatic snap or pop as they lift out. Their experiences are also more likely to be positive or desirable.
The coarser one's vibration while out of the body, the more likely one is to be seen by others in the physical. The ability to pass through physical objects will also likely diminish or disappear. The "reality" perceived is also likely to be closer to that of physical reality. Paul Twitchell teaches that it is possible to travel beyond the astral plane, and to eventually achieve "enlightenment" or reunion with "God" or the divine through the practice of soul travel. More information on this can be found in his and others' writings on Eckankar.
Many astral projectors see death as an out of body experience in which the projector never re-enters the body. It is possible that through astral projection we can learn more about death, life, and the nature of consciousness. It is certainly true that people who have had conscious out of body experiences are generally transformed, having much greater faith in our existence beyond the physical. A spontaneous out of body experience launches many people on a conscious spiritual quest.
As technology has enabled us to explore the far reaches of the globe, and even out into space, a new frontier for adventurous pioneers has come to the forefront. There are many such researchers and investigators quietly at work, delving into the mysteries of consciousness and life both in their living rooms and in some of the best-equipped laboratories universities and governments can supply. It's ironic that the "realities" that many people accept as the parameters of what is true or actual based on "science" were transcended years ago by the real scientists who continually move forward, opening up to question learned assumptions as they arise in experience.
The more we open up our beliefs and walk through new doors of experience, the more we realize that anything is possible. We may not live "normal" lives, but perhaps we can create extraordinary lives. To achieve this, we must be willing to abandon the limits of what is "real" that we've been taught, and explore the world with unprejudiced eyes through our own experiences.
"Those who deny the reality of the ecstasies and other spiritual experiences ... merely betray their own narrow-mindedness and shallow insight. Some allowance, however, must be made for them, for it is as difficult to believe in the reality of states of which one has no personal experiences as it is for a blind man to understand the pleasures of looking at green grass..."(Al-Ghazzali)
The best way to know the pleasure of green grass is to see it. The best way to know the reality of our existence beyond the physical is to transcend the physical, or experience astral projection for ourselves. Many ordinary people will be blessed with a spontaneous astral projection experience in their lifetimes. A few will undertake and achieve the ability to project at will.

Astrology is not a modern invention dating back only a few years, decades or even centuries. Astrology has been studied for millennia, and it dates back as far as recorded history. The original Astrologers were priests and scholars, and they were looked up to as doctors and learned men. According to modern speculation, the Three Wise Men of Christian belief were Astrologers.
Astrology is part of Hindu mythology: a divine tool since ancient times for prediction of past, present and future for individuals, nations etc. Astrology has diversified into many branches like Horoscope reading, Palmistry, Numerology, Varshaphala, Transit and Prashna. In ancient times, the Greeks and Romans based their system of gods on what they believed was up in the sky. Zeus, who equates to Jupiter in Roman myth, and the other gods and goddesses were based on the Planets visible to the ancients. Astrology was similarly popular in Babylon and Egypt, and it also rose in the Middle East, India and China.
Modern Astrology has changed with the discovery of new Planets: first Uranus in 1781, then Neptune and Pluto, as well as the four feminine-energy Asteroids. These three Planets have a stronger effect on generations as a whole rather than individuals, but they still have an important place in modern Astrology.
Astrology is about the interaction between the Planets (including the Sun and Moon) and the Signs. The relationships between them and their interactions are mathematically based, and Astrology studies these mathematical cycles. Each Sign represents a different aspect of the whole human; Aries starts the cycle, representing the Self, and Pisces completes it, representing the mass unconscious of all mankind. In between, each other Sign carries the energy of a different phase of man's evolution within the universe.
Astrology can be understood as a philosophy that helps to explain life, rather than a type of mysticism that can be used as a predictive tool. Instead of discussing what the Planets do to us, we can explain ourselves based on planetary indications. The Signs work the same way: Each of the twelve Signs is a unique combination of one of the four Elements and one of the three Qualities. The Elements and Qualities demonstrate that we are all part of the environment. There is a connection between all living things and all matter on this Planet. Astrology ties humans together: We are all faced with the same planetary interactions, and we are all part of the same cycles.
Despite all these connections, Astrology does not tie you to being a certain way, and it doesn't predict everything about you. Astrology explains the energy in your life and its potential challenges and possibilities. You can evolve from your chart. Astrology is about you. What you can learn from it can help you make a choice between free will and destiny.
In addition, Astrology does not need to affect or change people's religious beliefs. In fact, most religions incorporate some idea linking the way you live your life to where you end up in the afterlife. Astrology deals with the same sort of idea through the concept of karma: What you do in this lifetime determines what will happen to you in your next lifetime. The philosophies are the same; they are just expressed in different ways.
The first thing that the would-be astrologer should do is discard the idea that all forms of astrology is superstition mingled with the paranormal which can only be understood by mystics steeped in occult lore. Today, some astrology is presented this way, but this is not true "traditional astrology". Did you know that Astrology was considered science in man's early history? Also until just a short time ago it was considered the same as astronomy, an extension of it if you will, and uses the same tables as do the astronomer and the navigator.
Do not expect that horoscopes (from anyone at all) tell you your irreversible future! We are not lame puppets dangling on some mad God's string! Though God knows our future, rest assured we have not been stripped of our free will! Astrology only tells us tendency, personality and probability. Though these are very strong and WILL occur if unchecked, it is still not the end all and be all. What astrologers try to do is to describe tendencies in the characters of individuals, to suggest dangers, challenges and opportunities that may come to them, and to advise how to react to those circumstances when they do arrive.

The development of the faculties of clairvoyance, clairaudience and clairsentience requires training your mind, though they are considered to be gifts from God. The spirit is released in part from the clairvoyant's body and the spiritual energy which surrounds the spirit must undergo an appropriate degree of purification, but such partial separation in the case of clairvoyants differs radically from that in the case of the spirit of a "deep-trance medium" where the spirit is completely released from the body. It is true that the clairvoyant's spirit is projected, nevertheless it remains bound to the entire physical spiritual energy and to all parts of the body. The spiritual energy merely expands, to use an everyday term, and by its expansion allows the partial projection of the spirit.
In the case of clairvoyants therefore, there is a close union that is maintained between their own spirits and the spiritual energy of their bodies. It is their own spirit which sees images, feels feelings and hears words from the spirit world which may be literal or symbolic. A clairvoyant must come in contact with the spiritual energy of the person whose past, present or future they are attempting to see. This can be accomplished in person, or if the clairvoyant merely holds an object that the person has worn or in any way touched with the physical body.

Traditionally, metaphysics refers to the branch of philosophy that attempts to understand the fundamental nature of all reality, whether visible or invisible. Metaphysics seeks to explain the nature of being and the origin and structure of the world, uniting man's physical, mental, and spiritual character into its true nature of holism. It seeks a description so basic, so essentially simple, so all-inclusive that it applies to everything, whether divine or human or anything else. It attempts to tell what anything must be like in order to be at all.
The term metaphysics originally referred to the writings of Aristotle that came after his writings on physics, in the arrangement made by Andronicus of Rhodes about three centuries after Aristotle's death.
Through metaphysics, an applied psychology of religion has developed which has influenced the work of ministers and teachers in handling the emotional and physical problems of youth and maturity, and in dealing with the sick and dying. This facilitates a closer relationship between the work of the psychologist and that of the spiritual healer. In fact, the Doctor of Metaphysics, or Metaphysician, binds them into one, so that he is both psychological counselor and spiritual comforter and healer. The true Metaphysician is a combination of teacher, healer, and counselor, and espouses universal spirituality.
To call one a metaphysician in this traditional, philosophical sense indicates nothing more than his or her interest in attempting to discover what underlies everything.

Palm readings can reveal amazing insights into the character, love life, health, talents, career abilities, fate plus other important issues of the person being read. Things like romance, adventure, old forgotten memories, spiritual healing, personal growth, renewal, self-understanding, overcoming unproductive thinking, allowing innovative thinking, losing old habits, recognizing mind traps, overcoming fears, freeing from depression, anxiety, and stress, are some things to solve with those palm reading revelations. Palm reading lectures show evidence that allow evaluating consequences about taking various actions, thus revealing someone's own best way to succeed.
Consider that Hand Analysis and Palmistry are different but closely related in their use. The first exists as scientific study dealing with shape, size, finger lengths, fingernails, skin patterns which make anyone's hand different from any other. It's study is based upon what is recorded in them, measured, compared towards facts given in studies done by psychologists, medical doctors, educationalists, universities, character researches done in institutions world wide. Thus hands analysis allows evaluation of the personality, character structure, health, talents, career abilities, and hobbies best suited for certain individua, among other thingsl. Many people want it done for precise relationship choices.
Palmistry is done when reading hands with a scientific eye using intuition as a form of prediction that is absolutely unique. When analyzing manual lines, fortune tellers can use both Palmistry and Hand Analysis, getting a complete picture story of persons, who they are, their talents, their potential future, applying intuition to predict from those potentials. Fortune tellers diagnose, devine by manual lines, marks, shapes, pointing out logical results that involve simple destiny.
The heart line reveals emotions, sensitivity degree, capacity for giving and receiving love and affection. It also shows the heart's physical condition as well. The head line reveals mental capacity, also how an individual handles those emotional and mental stresses of life.

Parapsychology IS the scientific and scholarly study of certain unusual events associated with human experience.
A long-held, common sense assumption is that the worlds of the subjective and objective are completely distinct, with no overlap. Subjective is "here, in the head," and objective is "there, out in the world." Parapsychology is the study of phenomena suggesting that the strict subjective/objective dichotomy may instead be part of a spectrum, with some phenomena occasionally falling between purely subjective and purely objective. We call such phenomena "anomalous" because they are difficult to explain within current scientific models.
These anomalies fall into three general categories: ESP (terms are defined below), PK, and phenomena suggestive of survival after bodily death, including near-death experiences, apparitions, and reincarnation.
Parapsychology IS NOT the study of "anything paranormal" or bizarre. Nor is parapsychology concerned with astrology, UFOs, searching for Bigfoot, paganism, vampires, alchemy, or witchcraft.
Many scientists have viewed parapsychology with great suspicion because the term has come to be associated with a huge variety of mysterious phenomena, fringe topics, and pseudoscience.
Many feel that the strangest, and most interesting, aspect of parapsychological phenomena is that they do not appear to be limited by the known boundaries of space or time. In addition, they blur the sharp distinction usually made between mind and matter.
In popular usage, the basic parapsychological phenomena are categorized as follows:
Telepathy: Direct mind-to-mind communication
Precognition: Also called premonition. Obtaining information about future events, where the information could not be inferred through normal means.
Clairvoyance: Sometimes called remote viewing; obtaining information about events at remote locations, beyond the reach of the normal senses.
ESP: Extra-sensory perception; a general term for obtaining information about events beyond the reach of the normal senses. This term subsumes telepathy, clairvoyance, and precognition.
Psychokinesis: Also called PK; direct mental interaction with physical objects, animate or inanimate.
Bio-PK: Direct mental interactions with living systems.
NDE: Near death experience; an experience reported by those who were revived from nearly dying. Often refers to a core experience that includes feelings of peace, OBE, seeing lights and other phenomena.
OBE: Out-of-body experience; the experience of feeling separated from the body, often accompanied by visual perceptions as though from above the body.
Reincarnation: The belief that we live successive lives, with primarily evidence coming from the apparent recollections of previous lives.
Haunting: Recurrent phenomena reported to occur in particular locations that include apparitions, sounds, movement of objects, and other effects.
Poltergeist: Large-scale PK phenomena often attributed to spirits, but which are now thought to be due to a living person, frequently an adolescent.
Psi: A neutral term for parapsychological phenomena. Psi, psychic, and psychical are synonyms.

Psychokinesis, a form of psi, meaning that apparently it is a technique of mind over matter through invisible means. Examples of PK are movements of objects, bending of metals, and determining the outcome of events. It can occur spontaneously and deliberately which indicates it is both an unconscious and conscious process.
The term psychokinesis is derived from the Greek words psyche meaning "breath," "life," or "soul," and kinein meaning "to move." The occurrences of PK have been recorded since ancient times. The occurrences include levitation, miraculous healings, luminosities, apports, and other physical phenomena attributed to holy persons and adepts of magic around the world. Such phenomena is recorded in the Bible, especially in the New Testament, in the Book of Acts. One example is cited in which St. Paul and Silas where imprisoned in Ephesus where they prayed and sung hymns, and at midnight their shackles fell off as the prison doors swung opened (Acts 16:19-40).
Although PK is not generally acknowledged by scientists, many parapsychologists believe that well-controlled experiments have established its existence.

Where Did They Come From?
Tarot cards have been around since the fourteenth century or earlier. There are many different theories on how they came into existence, but the actual truth is not known. It is believed that the 22 major arcana cards within the 78 card deck were a separate form of Italian divination called Tarocchi and later merged into the European divination deck which was derived from regular playing cards. Links of origin to Italy, Spain, Gypsies, Egypt, and Arabia are some of the more common theories.
Basic Information:
A divination tool which tunes us into our subconscious minds, higher power, and tunes the reader into the subconscious mind of the querent. They are deeply reflective, and used by many as an aid in meditation. The tarot cards are slowly beginning to lose their evil stigma which was bestowed on them by the early church.
Common Myth:
You may have seen fictional movies showing a tarot reading being done and the death card appearing. The death card is actually positive, and rarely means death literally, but instead means the end of a of a stagnant energy pattern, and positive changes on the horizon.
The Deck:
Many Christians and Spiritualists use tarot cards, and believe that their abilities are not evil, but come from God. The most popular deck out of hundreds, is the Rider-Waite deck. They are easy to interpret, and beautifully illustrated. The 22 major arcana cards within the 78 card deck depict archetypes and signify major change on physical, emotional, and spiritual levels. One major arcana card in a reading can tell a whole story. In addition, there are for different suits, Wands, Cups, Swords, Pentacles, which represent different energies, and also the elements, and 16 court cards representing people of different physical attributes and dispositions.
In advanced tarot card reading the suits can be used to determine the season of the year, and even month, day and year of an event. Tarot cards can calm people, inspire them, and sometimes forewarn them of events to come that they may either anticipate or avoid.
Golden Rule:
Speaking the truth and not omitting information is the golden rule, but in the event of negative information, much compassion and tact should be used. There is almost always advice in the cards to help a person change a negative event to come. There is of course God's will in which the inevitable will happen. In cases like this, trying to help a person understand is the goal. Another golden rule of tarot reading is to not divulge information to help a person commit evil. This includes any sort of harm to another, criminal activity, adultery, etc. The cards should be used strictly in the highest light to help people better their lives.
Usefullness:
Sometimes a reading will help a querent realize unknown fears, destructive patterns, and attitudes that need changing. They can even be used to detect blocked chakras in the body, the cause of the blockage (emotional trauma) and the ill effects this can have on one's health.

Moving objects from one place to another without using physical contact. The re-shaping of objects using the mind's energies, such as bending a spoon, or key, by just holding it and focusing.
Telekinesis is created by higher levels of consciousness. It can not be created by 'wishing it' to happen on the physical level. The energy to move or bend an object is created by a person's thoughts created by their subconscious mind.
Energy levels must be very high. The desire to move or break or bend an object must exist in a level of thought we do not as yet have control over with the 10% of the brain human's presently use.
Primitive man used telekinesis instinctively as a form of survival. Today we do not remember how to access that part of our brain.
Everyone has the potential to be able to be telekinetic. There are different things that can have a sort of psychotropic affect on the brain. Meaning, affecting the mental activity or behavior perception. Even stress and abuse can cause one to cultivate certain psychokinetic abilities.

When many people think of the word telepathy, they may think of some unusual ability that only "special" or "gifted people" have. They may think of movies depicting this ability where one person hears the thoughts of another in actual words. Perhaps some people do have that ability but more often than not, telepathy is a common practice that comes to most of us naturally which we use in day to day life and for our basic survival whether we are aware of it or not. The Oxford dictionary defines telepathy as 'action of one mind on another at a distance through emotional influence without communication through the senses. When thinking about this definition it becomes evident that telepathy does often overlap with many other abilities we may consider "paranormal" or "extrasensory". Have you ever been standing in a room of people and suddenly turned around not knowing why and noticed someone staring at you? How is it possible for us to know that someone is looking at our back? Did the person call out our name or say anything? Very often they did not. Have you ever walked into a room of people and wanted to leave right away because of what you may refer to as "bad vibes"? Sometimes we may meet or begin to talk with someone and there will be something in their eyes that makes us uncomfortable. In these situations, they may not have said anything to us with words and we may not have been influenced by anything they did using the general senses we know of but we "sensed something" or got a "bad feeling". Did you ever meet anyone and not liked them immediately without any "logical" reason for it? Some people call that, "bad chemistry". We often "speak to each other" without words using a language that only our subconscious understands and this influences our conscious actions, choices and behavior.
What about attractions to other people? Sometimes we can just look into a person's eyes and immediately become attracted to them and know potential is there for a relationship of one kind or another. Telepathic communication is not limited to human beings however. Our pets develop bonds with us and depending on how strong the bond is, often communicate with us through eye contact and anyone who has this type of bond with their pet knows this. Some people believe that a person with a conscience cannot look another in the eye if they are lying and this is a good way to know if someone is guilty. Why is it difficult for many of us to look in someone's eyes while lying to them. What power do eyes have? There is an old saying that the eyes are the windows to the soul. Perhaps they transmit the truth to others who look into them and it all happens on a subconscious level. In just about every country and time period in history, there have been many protective amulets, jewelry, talismans, oils, etc which have been alleged to protect people from "the evil eye" or the negative thoughts and intentions of others.
Women have often been credited for having "women's intuition" but many of us, regardless of gender, have this ability. It is an ability to see things in people and situations without having too much information to work with. We often use this intuition as a protective measure and to keep from falling into negative circumstances. Women have practiced this necessary ability throughout history to raise children and keep their families together. Very often people in the business world need it as well especially when they have to work with lots of people and make "educated guesses" and decisions very quickly. It is necessary to use it when making decisions about which people to do business with. Sometimes we need more than just people's word or hard cold facts.
Sometimes telepathic communication happens between people at great distance from each other. Someone may get a sudden flash and picture in their mind of something very disturbing like a fire and think of a friend who lives far away. Later on they may discover that their friend's house burned down. Sometimes it is difficult to know whether a lot of these things are psychic abilities on the part of the one who has the "visions" or thoughts transmitted to the person by someone in trouble that the "visionary" picked up on. These abilities often overlap and it is hard to know for sure. A good example of this is psychic dreams. We may have a dream that tells us about something possibly going on in another person's life. We might find out later that it was very accurate even though there was no way for us to have this information. Did we pick up on the thoughts of that person we dreamed about or are we someone who has psychic dreams?
Clairaudience is the ability to hear things outside the normal range of perception. It is another psychic strength which can also be seen as a telepathic one. Perhaps this ability, like telepathy, gets distorted in movies and on television. Did you ever talk to someone on the telephone and just knew something was wrong even though they said they are fine and did not say anything with words to tell you otherwise. "It was just something in her voice", you might say. Sometimes we may be with someone talking and there will be something in their eye contact, the tone in their voice, articulations, and stressors put on certain words that worried you somehow. These are things most of us experience in our day-to-day life and even though no words may be spoken we "just know". There are audible clues to a lot of what is going on with people if we are really paying attention with senses that may or may not go beyond the common ones we know of. It depends on your viewpoint. Some might say, "I just know people" or "I am a careful observer". Telephone psychics often use clairaudience.
Many people wonder if telepathy, psychic abilities, clairaudience, intuition, psychic dreams, etc. are a lot of hocus pocus nonsense with purely logical explanations or if these abilities are real. Still others consider that these are skills all of us have and use everyday without realizing it. Another question is if these abilities are somehow connected with the spiritual realm or if they come from a part of the brain we all have but only some of us use. Perhaps at this point in the evolution of modern civilization, these abilities are presented in a way that seem special, unusual, extra sensory and paranormal. Unfortunately, there are those who abuse these words taking advantage of others by charging enormous amounts of money to offer them their "gifts". This then insults those of us who are really in tune with and have developed this special sensitivity, heightened awareness and intuition who really want to assist and guide people when we are lumped together with those who exploit other people for profit. Perhaps it is these charlatans who claim to have "supernatural powers" that bring on the skeptical attitude in people and cause them to have a black and white attitude about the subject all together.
The kind of telepathy we see depicted in science fiction movies may be hard for many of us to fathom but in every fairy tale, myth or fantasy, there is always an element of truth. Sometimes it comes from something in actual recorded history, collective memory or even a vision of things to come. The Celts, well known for their magical lore, were believed to have practiced telepathy. During the Roman Gallic wars, the Romans could not understand how the enemy seemed to be able to detect even their smallest movements and were able to quickly prepare for an attack. In more tribal and primitive cultures such as the Aborigines of Australia, telepathy is accepted as a common practice. A person who practices the form of telepathy which a more advanced culture might accept may be more accurately called an empath. An empath knows things through their feelings, sensitivity and emotions. Sometimes this knowing even affects them biologically. The telepath will often naturally or deliberately cut off his emotions and feelings in order to have better mind-to-mind contact. Both the empath and the telepath can use their skills constructively for many of the same purposes to a greater or lesser degree but in different ways and this may be referred to as "The Art of Telepathy". For example, if someone is trying to find out if a certain person is guilty of a crime, an empath and a telepath could be in the room with the accused man/woman and both able to tune into his/her conscience. The way they come to know if the one is guilty or not is different. The empath may know the person is guilty by a gut feeling of dread and horror, may see disturbing images and get an overwhelming feeling of fear while the telepath may not be effected emotionally. In his mind, the telepath may ask the accused a question and then will hear the response in the form of some kind of dialog and may even obtain some details of the crime through actual words.
The telepath may understand people by knowing what and how they think and the empath by what they feel. They may be able to see "the truth" in situations, have an objective point of view and be able to clarify misunderstandings and confusion between people. People with these skills can be a great benefit when help is needed to solve difficult crimes. They may be able to tell if someone is lying as well. The telepath may even act as a "human lie detector". The empath can have a deeper understanding of another person's feelings by experiencing them vicariously. Then the situation the person is in or their dilemma may become clearer. They can also help people get in touch with and sort through feelings that may be buried. Both the telepath and empath can warn people if they are getting involved with someone who may not have the best intentions. A telepath, by tuning into a person's thoughts, can warn us of crimes before they happen. As dicussed earlier, pets and their human companions can have a telepathic link at times. An animal can alert a human to "bad people" by certain unusual behaviors. It is up to us to listen because in order for this exchange to take place, the receiver must be open to the sender's message. Sometimes the timing has to be right as well. This is especially true when healing is sent to another person telepathically. The healing will be most powerful and successful when the receiver is thought to be most receptive. Sometimes a very effective telepath or group of people with these skills can send healing to a person on the other side of the world. The talent and skill of the empath and telepath can be very beneficial to many people as long as it is used constructively. Those who have it must know how to harness and regulate it as well. It is believed that all people have telepathic abilities and the only difference between telepaths and those who are not is that those who are have come to an awareness of its presence. This jewel many of our ancestors took for granted which is still commonly used today by more primitive people is considered to be a talent only of the gifted by our modern, advanced culture but perhaps someday it will be accepted as a reality common to all people. |

Thanatology is the scientific study of death that almost always involves deathbed visions. Such visions are regarded as showing that death is not an extinction of life but the transition of life. Many see this transition as a rite of passage that should be undergone consciously and with dignity.
